PSVB had a good turnout
Oct 9, 1999 for our run through the Evans Creek ORV park at the NW base
of Mt. Rainier. We had 14 Broncos at the parking lot including 2
who didn't want to risk body damage and parked. We also had 2 token
CJ's and a '99 Ford Ranger.

I think some of the
Broncos got a little more than they bargained for on this run. Let's
just say we were a little unsure of the maps reliability and lockers were
the ticket to a dent-free day. Oh well, that's why we do this right?

All told, the carnage
for the Broncos was minor. A few body dents here and there as well
as a bent bumper or two.

Otherwise no one
broke down and we were able to get everyone through some pretty fun trails.

Chris Schwitter felt
the need to egg me on through a particularly deep water hole no one else
had crossed. It seemed okay until the middle when it dropped.
I goosed the throttle and watched the mud pour over the passenger side
of the hood and in through the floor boards. Made it through with
the throttle mashed. One of the Jeeps who followed through the hole
ended up dead in the middle and needed a pull out. Took some time
but the starter finally engaged and we were headin' up the trail.

The brunt of the
damage was taken by the '99 Ranger. I take some of the responsibility
as I invited Bryan along for this. Evans Creek trails are generally
meant for short wheel based vehicles and a Bronco is about as long as you
wanna go. He ended with a destroyed nerf bar, several dents in various
body panels including doors and bed, one under-bumper air dam removed and
various scrapes and scratches.

Toby managed to get
a little off center on an obstacle and tipped onto his passenger side.
It was pretty humorous watching he and his wife just sit there while we
all shot photos. One of them should end up in the calendar.
A quick tug and he was up and running with no damage.
